Heating & Ventilation Apprentice, Level 2, Liverpool
I had heard about how big Integral was as a company before I applied for my apprenticeship, and was excited at the future career prospects this offered. I chose an apprenticeship as it gave me the chance to learn a trade, while getting hands on experience working with highly skilled professionals.
I’m passionate about doing a good job and enjoy learning how to become the best engineer I can be. I enjoy testing myself, pushing myself to achieve and challenging myself with new goals. I’m confident that with the help of Integral and my mentor Neil, that I will achieve my ambition, complete my apprenticeship and become a qualified gas engineer.
No day is the same
I enjoy the variety that the job brings, working with and meeting new people every day. I work at the University of Liverpool and a normal day for me is travelling to different sites, accommodations and buildings to complete a range of engineering and maintenance tasks, assisting other engineers.
A springboard to the career you want
If you are considering an apprenticeship, go for something you enjoy that will provide a pathway into the career you aspire to. Learning a new skill and getting the chance to immediately apply it in a practical way, builds your self-confidence and gives you a good foundation from which to progress.
I would recommend a career in engineering due to the potential it offers. The industry is crying out for skilled engineers, so once qualified, your future prospects are bright. While working with Integral, I have learned many different skills in the gas and plumbing trade, as well as how to work alone or with others, and how to communicate and establish partnerships with customers.
Proud to deliver excellence
Integral makes a difference to customers as we believe the customer comes first. We pride ourselves on delivering excellence in engineering and building a relationship with the client. I am proud to be part of that and to work for a company that is supporting me in achieving my career ambitions.
